The state joint-stock company Valsts nekustamie īpašumi (VNĪ) has started a public auction of the former Bank of Latvia branch in Rēzekne. The opening price is €304,700, and bidding is due to end on 16 November, VNĪ said. TVNET/LETA published the report on 19 October 2026.

The property at Baznīcas iela 22 comprises 1,813 square metres of land, a bank building of 1,636.7 square metres, two small outbuildings and other engineering structures. Its fiscal cadastral value is €105,412, and its universal cadastral value is €258,258.

The bank building is a monument of local architectural significance. It was built in 1880 and rebuilt for the Bank of Latvia in 1929. It is a two-storey brick building with a two-storey annex at one end. On the historic volume, the facades are finished in plastered and painted masonry or painted masonry. The Rēzekne branch stopped operating in January 2011.

A VNĪ survey recorded considerable wear in individual parts of the building. The structure as a whole meets the requirements of the Construction Law and is in satisfactory technical condition. Some walls show uneven settlement cracks and cracks caused by thermal deformation of the structures.

The survey opinion puts wear at 40% for the foundations; the load-bearing walls and lintels; the roof structure, covering and rainwater drainage; the partitions, floors and windows; the water and sewer pipes; the central-heating radiators; and the ventilation and electricity supply. Heating pipes and risers are worn by 60%, as is the interior finish. Low-voltage networks show 20% wear.

Under its strategy, VNĪ keeps over the long term the properties needed for state administration. Properties that public institutions do not need in the long run and that cause losses to the state are sold by public auction in the manner set by law, or a transfer to other holders is considered. The company also arranges the disposal of other state real estate. VNĪ was founded in 1996, and the Ministry of Finance holds 100% of its shares.
